What is Black Fae Day?
Black Fae Day is an annual event, showcasing Black Fantasy, founded by Jasmine La Fleur, with the support of her partner Carlos Williams Jr. which began May 8th, 2021 as the Twitter hashtag #BlackFaeDay. It garnered global participation by Black creatives as well as the support of their allies. This year’s main event was held in Rockwall, TX, from April 30th - May 1st. Last year it was held in Atlanta, GA.
Who's behind all of this?
Hey! Nice to meet y'all. I'm Lala! I'm a cultural practitioner and organizer with a deep interest in fantasy and last year, in 2022, I was eager to bring a little bit of the Black Fae Day magic to Boston, so I organized a spring picnic at the Boston Public Garden (our very first event.) Can't wait to see y'all at the next one! ♡
I’m looking for other folks to get involved in organizing efforts! If you’d like to express interest please email at [email protected] or reach out via the pinned post in our FaceBook group.
